about

The XDR toneburst was an indicator that a commercially released cassette tape had been mass produced under the XDR quality control system. The tones would play either at the beginning or end of a commercially released compact audio cassette. The toneburst was less than 3 seconds in duration; it has here been stretched to 23 minutes long, the average length of one side of a commercially released album on audio cassette.
